Small Change
Like the copper coins that weight a wallet till they add up to a loaf of bread, the shiny scraps at the bottom of the sewing basket jingled at me till I pieced them together to make two small coppery quilts.

Small Change #1 (30 x 19 cm) and Small Change #2 (38 x 17 cm)

What fun! I played with my scraps today too. I was supposed to be reorganizing a drawer, which I did, but I got distracted a bit too!

Scraps have that magical effect, don’t they. Aren’t we lucky to be able to play with them. I known what you mean about getting distracted by the contents of a drawer. And the bigger the drawer the more treasures it contains.

OK, this is my favorite poem so far. I love the image of the coins eventually adding up to a loaf of bread 🙂

I don’t know which one I like best. Are you going to keep the 2 quilts together?

Yes, they are a pair. I no longer own the pieces but luckily the person bought both of them. Thanks for reading and commenting Emmely

I really like the sense of balance in the poem, or of things adding up. The lovely quilts kind of convey that too.
