Poem #31

Small Change

Like the copper coins
that weight a wallet
till they add up to a loaf of bread,
the shiny scraps at the bottom
of the sewing basket
jingled at me
till I pieced them together
to make two small coppery quilts.

    1. Scraps have that magical effect, don’t they. Aren’t we lucky to be able to play with them. I known what you mean about getting distracted by the contents of a drawer. And the bigger the drawer the more treasures it contains.
